Holstentor
The Holsten Gate is Lübeck's landmark and one of the most popular sights. In the 15th century, the city gate was part of the city fortifications that defended Lübeck from attacks.
With its imposing towers and brick construction, it is a symbol of the history and wealth of the Hanseatic city.

Next to the Holsten Gate we find the Lübeck salt warehouses, all of which were built between 1579 and 1745. The salt that was stored here at that time made Lübeck rich. The walk along the salt warehouses on the Trave River is a journey into the past.

We take a 60-minute boat tour on the Trave, which is an important river and flows through Lübeck. With its calm and picturesque course, the Trave is a popular destination for boat trips.
From the boat you can watch the lively hustle and bustle in the harbor and the ships passing by. There are cozy bars and nice restaurants right on the Trave.

The Old Town Island
In 1987, Lübeck's old town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The historic city center is called the "Old Town Island" because it is located on a large "island" surrounded by water on all sides. Here we find around 1,800 listed buildings, quaint passageways, alleys and backyards.

Lubeck Cathedral
Officially the cathedral of Lübeck and an example of North German brick Gothic architecture. Its history begins in the 12th century. Over the following centuries there were various construction phases and changes, which culminated in its current imposing appearance.
Inside you will find magnificent vaults, altars and works of art.

St. Mary's Church is a prime example of North German brick Gothic architecture. Built between 1277 and 1351 and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lübeck's Old Town.
The two towers of St. Mary's Church are an impressive 125 meters high, the roof turret is 60 meters high and can be climbed as part of a tour.
The interior features impressive artistic altars, magnificent stained glass windows and a majestic organ.

The Burgtor and the Burgtor Bridge are historic buildings. The Burgtor was part of the city wall, the Burgtor Bridge leads over the city moat and connects the Burgtor with the old town. Together they form the entrance to the historic center.
