Amboise
Amboise owes its reputation to its royal castle, the vast 15th-century residence of Charles VIII, which houses the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci, royal apartments, gardens and underground corridors. Just outside the town, the Château du Clos Lucé is the former residence of Leonardo da Vinci, where he lived until his death in 1519.

Chenonceaux
Chenonceau Castle is a remarkable example of late Gothic and early Renaissance architecture. Its unique design with its arches spanning the Cher River makes it a visually impressive site. It is often called the "Château des Dames" because of the important role played by women in its history, particularly Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici.

It is associated with Tintin, the famous comic book character. A permanent exhibition presents objects and decorations linked to Tintin.
