Longmen Grottoes
Following a morning pickup from your accommodation in Luoyang city center, meet your private guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle. Heading directly to Longmen Grottoes.
Accompanied by your knowledgable tour guide to explore this UNESCO Site -The Longmen Grottoes comprise more than 2,300 caves and niches carved into the steep limestone cliffs over a 1km long stretch. Admire the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907), you will also visit the Fengxian Temple and the Wanfo Cave.

The White Horse Temple, patronized in 68 CE by Emperor Ming in the Eastern Han Dynasty’s capital, is the first Buddhist temple to be built in China. Explore the halls and pavilions with your guide, hearing stories about the Buddhism history and culture.

Next, stroll around the Luoyang Museum to learn the rich cultural heritage of this old capital. Check out over 400,000 historical relic objects displayed here. They include antiquaries from palaces and temples. These artifacts establish the historical past of Luoyang, representing elements of the ancient city of nine capitals, from Neolithic times up to 937 AD.
