Tell el-Amarna
Pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by your professional tour guide, then travel in a comfortable private vehicle to El Minya, located approximately 222 kilometers (138 miles) south of Cairo. Throughout the journey, your guide will provide detailed explanations about the history of Upper Egypt and the sites you will visit, ensuring an informative and engaging experience.
Upon arrival, begin your exploration at Tell El Amarna, the ancient capital city established in 1346 BC by Pharaoh Akhenaten during the late 18th Dynasty. This remarkable archaeological site preserves the remains of Akhenaten’s short-lived city, which was abandoned shortly after his death in 1332 BC. Discover the unique history of this revolutionary period in ancient Egypt.

Beni Hassan
Continue to Beni Hasan, an important Middle Kingdom cemetery dating from the 21st to the 17th centuries BCE. The site is famous for its rock-cut tombs with vivid wall scenes depicting daily life, wrestling matches, and military activities. Nearby, visit the Temple of Pakhet, built by Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose III. Known later by the Greeks as the “Cave of Artemis,” this impressive subterranean temple was dedicated to the local lioness goddess.
Enjoy lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant before proceeding to Deir Al Adhra (Monastery of the Virgin Mary). Located on the east bank of the Nile, this significant Christian site is believed to be one of the places visited by the Holy Family during their journey through Egypt.
After completing your visits, relax as you travel comfortably back to your hotel in Cairo.
