The Berlin Cathedral Church (Berliner Dom) is the city's most prominent Protestant church and one of the city's most recognizable monuments because to its imposing basilica and its towering dome. The interior of the church, with its ornate decorations, is a sight to behold. (Outside Visit)

The Friedrichswerder Church in Berlin, Germany was the first building in the country to be designed in the Neo-Gothic style. It was planned by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, an architect better recognized for his work in the Neoclassical style, and construction on it took place between the years 1824 and 1831.

A Christmas market has been held annually at Gendarmenmarkt for a number of years. The area is surrounded by the Concert Hall, the German Cathedral, and the French Cathedral. In the center of the space is a large Christmas tree, and on the surrounding are traditional market stalls with roofs shaped like stars.

The square became known as Pariser Platz after Napoleon's defeat in the Battle of Paris. Over the centuries, the military of various Berlin factions—from the House of Hohenzollern to the German Democratic Republic—paraded across this grand square.

The Brandenburg Gate stands 26 meters tall. The Quadriga figure, created by Johann Gottfried Schadow in 1793, has stood above the entrance since then. There's more to this statue's tale than meets the eye.

Germany's lower house of parliament, the Bundestag, has its sessions in the Reichstag in Berlin. Located on the south bank of the Spree River, it is one of Berlin's most recognizable monuments and the northern terminus of the Ebertstrasse.
