Chachabamba
Cusco - KM104 - Aguas Calientes. Your tour begins with a 4:00 pm pick-up from your hotel. We'll travel by car to Ollantaytambo, where we'll board the train to kilometer 104. Here, we'll begin your "ENTRANCE TO THE INCA TRAIL." We'll start your hike, crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River, also known as Willkamayuc, which translates from Quechua as Sacred River. The archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Choquesuysuy are located 15 minutes from the checkpoint. After a 3-hour hike, we'll reach Wiñaywayna (2,650 m / 8,694 ft). The name comes from a beautiful orchid that grows abundantly in the area and means "Eternally Young" in Spanish. The site features more than 20 buildings, including the Temple of the Rainbow, also called the Temple of Fertility. The visit will last approximately 1 hour.
