Start the tour at the Church of Santa Maria della Spina, nestling by the picturesque Aron River. The exquisite Pisan-Gothic gem sets itself apart from plain buildings around with its intricate and fine exterior design in contrast to the simplistic yet attractive interior featuring some notable masterpieces of sculptures.

Next, cross the Middle Bridge. The main bridge connecting the northern and southern parts of the city offers stunning views of the atmospheric Aron River lined by eye-catching buildings of vibrant colors.

Then, stroll across Borgo Stretto for a delightful blend of historical architecture, including the Church of San Michele and the Settimelli Bar where Galileo Galilei was born, and charming artisan shops, boutiques, cafés, local eateries. Continue to admire the Baptistery of Pisa, the largest one in the world. Its unique combination of Romanesque and Gothic styles distinguishes the imposing baptistery from the monuments around it.

The final step of the tour is the 12th-century Lion's Gate, whose name derives from the marble lion initially placed outside as a protector of the city.
