In the streets of Pelourinho, these musical forms are manifested as a form of resistance, present in the beating of drums and on the faces of each citizen that joins that festivity. After the Catholic Mass celebrated in consonance with elements of religions of African origin in the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of Blacks, in honor of Saint Anthony, the streets of Pelourinho sing and dance in honor of Ogun, who is the African god and patron saint of black liberation army.
