One day trip out of Tokyo is to visit quiet and peaceful temple on the mountain. There are breathtaking viewpoints of coastal areas, giant carved Buddha and Kannon, numerous small Buddha statues, temples, a tea house and amazing nature all around. Mt. Nokogiri is one of the deepest spot, around 2 hours from Tokyo st., by taking beautifully scenic JR trains around the Boso Peninsula. The Guide will meet you at Hamakanaya st. nearest to Mt. Nokogiri.

Hama-Kanaya Station
The Guide will meet you at JR Hamakanaya station in Chiba pref. Walk to the bottom of Mt. Nokogiri and take a Rope way to the top of the mountain where the main attractions are located. Enjoy breathtaking views of Boso peninsula and Tokyo Bay.

Jigoku Nozoki (View of Hell)
At the peak of the mountain is an Overhang Observation Rock called Jigoku Nozoki meaning Hell Lookout. Once Standing on Jigoku Nozoki there is a thrilling view of Boso Peninsula and Tokyo Bay below.

Kenkonzan Nihon-ji Temple
Nihonji Temple spreads along the slopes of Mt. Nokogiri. Walk up and down the stairs to see 30 meter tall Hyaku-Syaku Kannon carved in a stone cliff,and small statues of Buddhist disciples lining along the paths. The main attraction is 31 meter tall stone statue of Buddha standing on the midway of Mt. Nokogiri.

Michi-no-Eki Hota Shogakko
Enjoy quiet and peaceful hike seeing temples, tea house, small pond and amazing nature all around. to reach down to the bottom of the mountain.

Hota Chuo Beach
Hota is a fishing port and bathing spot viewing beautiful Mt. Fuji across the sea on sunny days. The local fish restaurants serve fresh fish cuisine. Public bath and Ukiyo-e museum and Ryokan Japanese inns are located.
