San Juan Bay

San Juan Bay (Spanish: Bahía de San Juan) is the bay and main inlet adjacent to Old San Juan in northeastern Puerto Rico.It is among the busiest Caribbean ports. Thousands of fishermen ply the brackish waters where fresh water meets the sea. San Juan Bay's beauty and ecological diversity attracts tourism and a variety of recreational activities.
El Paseo de La Princesa, the most beloved promenade in Puerto Rico, dates back to 1853. This beautifully restored walk is a favorite place for locals day and night and welcomes millions of visitors from all over the world. La Princesa was a former prison. The initial city jail was built in 1837 and then expanded in 1854. It incarcerated up to 240 inmates until 1965. Now restored La Princesa Jail is home of the Puerto Rican Tourism Company and a remarkable museum.
