Get to the Chapel of Apparitions, a small chapel constructed in 1919 to mark the location where three children witnessed the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fátima. Admire the classic aqueduct in Obidos that was built at the orders of Catherine of Austria circa 1570. The structure is immense and can be seen from many points in Obidos. Despite its age, it is well preserved and gives you an opportunity to appreciate the necessity of the object that brought water to the population

Igreja de Santa Maria de Lamas
Take a chance to see this small but richly decorated church of Saint Mary with its gilded carvings, blue tiles, and paintings on the ceiling. Take a moment to marvel at the fascinating, vivid ornaments on the famous Portuguese azulejos. Well preserved, like everything else in Obidos, it takes you back in time between 1148 and 1185.

Batalha Monastery
Enrich your day and your collection of impressions by visiting the Batalha Monastery. One more World Heritage Site, it offers one of the finest examples of late Flamboyant Gothic architecture in Portugal. Look around and take a stroll to enjoy the sight of splendid stone filigree. The place was also the last resort for six kings of Portugal.

Ponte da Boutaca
Pass by the Boutaca Bridge, a beautiful neo-gothic structure built in 1862 during the reign of King Luis I. Admire its romantic pavilions and yellow dye with perfect white accents. The robust bridge with a stone floor, which is 60 meters long and 7 meters wide, is now considered a Property of Public Interest.

Castle of Alcobaca
