Nagoya Castle
Nagoya Castle is Nagoya's iconic landmark castle, built by Ieyasu Tokugawa in the early Edo period. It's famous for its golden shachihoko (mythical carp-like creatures) on the roof and once flourished as the residence of the Owari Tokugawa family. Although much of it was destroyed during World War II, the main keep and other structures have since been rebuilt, and the lavish Honmaru Palace has also been restored. It's a popular tourist spot where you can experience Nagoya's history and culture.
※Please note that currently, the main keep (Tenshukaku) is undergoing renovation, so it's not possible to go inside and climb to the top.
