Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is located 70 kilometers to the north of Beijing city. The site underwent refurbishment during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) and was an important strategic location, guarding the entrance to the plains where Beijing is situated. Your professional English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby and transport you to the Great Wall via a private vehicle. Access to the Wall is available via cable car and chairlift. You have the opption to take the cable car/ski lift halfway up then hike the rest of the way. For the descent, you can choose to take the cable car down or opt for the toboggan slide. Once on the Wall, enjoy walking along this highway of history, soaking in the stunning panorama of the surrounding countryside.
