The Eagle’s Nest, or Kehlsteinhaus, was built between 1937 and 1938 as a gift for Hitler’s 50th birthday. Perched on a narrow rocky ridge at 1,834 meters, it’s an incredible feat of engineering with breathtaking views over the Bavarian Alps near Berchtesgaden.
