Mount Agung
Mount Agung is the highest peak in Bali, standing at over 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) above sea level. The trek is physically demanding and requires a good level of fitness. It's steeper and more difficult than Mount Batur, requiring stamina and determination to reach the summit.
Climbing Mount Agung usually requires a permit, and it's recommended to go with a local guide for safety and navigation, as the trail can be challenging to follow, especially in the dark. Guides are also knowledgeable about the mountain and its cultural significance.
From the summit, trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of Bali and the surrounding islands, including Mount Rinjani on Lombok, on clear days. The sight of the crater and the surrounding landscape is awe-inspiring and makes the challenging ascent worthwhile.
