Itinerary
1
Fort Jesus Museum
Tour the outside and grounds of Fort Jesus, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and experience one of the world’s most well-preserved pieces of 16th Century Portuguese military architecture.
But wait! Fort Jesus is so much more than its impressive, still-standing walls. Inside the gates are an incredible collection of notable historic artifacts and structures, including Oman House which served as the house of the Sultan who governed the East African coast, cannons left behind by the British and Portuguese military, and more.
1 hour and 30 minutes
2
Mombasa Tusks
Take your photo at one of the most iconic spots in Mombasa, four iconic tusks that were erected for the arrival of Queen Elizabeth in 1952. They now serve as an introduction to the heart of Mombasa, welcoming visitors from all over the world.

3
Old Town
Situated in the south-east part of Mombasa, visiting Mombasa Old Town is like living history. Descendants of the host of cultures who’ve lived here, including Swahili people, Arabs, Portuguese, and British settlers, make this area rich with life. Architectural details reflect each culture’s influence, making Old Town a vibrant exhibit of life and culture from centuries past in Mombasa.

Mombasa
Experience coastal Kenya and the Old Town Mombasa Spice Market, where Mombasa’s legacy as an important stop on the spice route can still be felt (and smelled!) today. This covered market filled with spices of every imaginable color is always bustling.

Haller Park
Haller Park is an animal sanctuary set on reclaimed land which was formerly a limestone mine wasteland. The park is home to giraffes, zebras, Cape buffalo, waterbuck, and hippo. Oh, and the one-time internet sensation 130-year-old tortoise named Mzee (Old Man) which adopted a baby hippo.

Akamba Handicraft
Carvings unlike any other. From decorative masks and shields to jewelry and home decor, the wood carvings at Akamba are internationally renowned. Here, you’ll learn about the Akamba legacy that dates back more than 100 years.
