Itinerary
1
Marrakech
Your private, air-conditioned vehicle arrives at your hotel or riad door at 8:00 AM sharp. If your riad is inside the medina and inaccessible by car, your guide will meet you at the nearest accessible point — all communicated in advance. The 45-minute drive south takes you through the outskirts of Marrakech and into the foothills of the High Atlas, with your guide sharing the history of the Berber people and pointing out landmarks along the way.
2
Asni
Your first stop is a women-run argan oil cooperative — one of the most praised stops on any Atlas Mountains tour. Watch the traditional stone-grinding process, taste argan oil and amlou (the Berber version of nut butter), and enjoy a complimentary Berber breakfast: fresh bread, mint tea, honey and argan oil. This is a no-pressure environment — purchases are welcome but never expected.
40 minutes
3
Imlil
Enter the High Atlas on foot with your local Berber guide. Walk through traditional villages of mudbrick homes, past terraced vegetable gardens and walnut orchards. Your guide introduces you to local families and explains Berber architecture, farming traditions, and daily life. Stop at elevated viewpoints over the Three Valleys — on clear days you can see the snow-capped summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167m. The walk is suitable for most fitness levels — roughly 3–4km on flat to gently rising paths.

Aroumd
Sit down for a home-cooked Berber lunch inside a local family's home — the single most praised element in reviews across all top Atlas Mountains tours on Viator. A typical spread includes harira soup, Moroccan salads, a slow-cooked lamb or vegetable tagine, and seasonal fruit, followed by fresh mint tea. The setting is intimate — travelers genuinely feel like guests, not tourists. Vegetarian options are always available and should be noted at booking.

Agafay
Agafay Desert camel ride on the return
On the drive back to Marrakech, stop at the Agafay Desert — a dramatic rocky moonscape just 30 minutes from the city. Mount your camel for a ride across the stony desert plains, with the Atlas Mountains as a backdrop behind you and Marrakech in the distance ahead. A completely different landscape from the green valleys of the morning — and the perfect final memory before returning to the city. Drop-off at your hotel around 5:30 PM.
