Day 2
Cusco to Manu National Park
3 Stops
1
Chullpas de Ninamarca
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 5:00 a.m. to begin our journey. Our first stop will be the pre-Inca cemetery of Ninamarca. From there, we will travel through the mountains until we reach Tres Cruces, the highest point and main entrance to Manu National Park. This area is one of the most protected natural regions in South America.

Tres Cruces
We will continue into the cloud forest and spend about three hours exploring it. Along the way, we will be able to observe Peru's national bird, the cock-of-the-rock, and the large choro monkey. We will also pass by bromeliads and orchids, and with luck, animals such as the Andean bear, the blue-banded tucan, the golden-headed quetzal, and the crested quetzal.

Manu National Park
At the end of the afternoon, we will arrive at Amazon Pona Lodge. After settling in, we will have an optional night walk through the jungle, where we can observe tarantulas, frogs, snakes, night monkeys, boas, and more. Rubber boots will be provided for safety.
