Plaza de la Constitución is a focal point for many of Málaga's festivities, including the famous Holy Week (Semana Santa) processions and the August Fair (Feria de Agosto).

The church dates back to the 15th century, making it one of the oldest churches in Málaga.
It was established after the Reconquista, when Christian forces retook the city from the Moors.

The cathedral was built on the site of a former mosque after the Reconquista, when Christian forces reclaimed Málaga from Moorish rule in 1487.
Construction began in 1528 and continued for several centuries.

The City Hall was constructed between 1912 and 1919. It is designed in the Neo-Baroque style, with influences from Neo-Mudejar architecture.

It served as a fortress and palace for the Muslim governors of Málaga.
