Start the tour by meeting your local gay guide at Plaza Chueca where you'll learn a bit of the neighborhood's history. Then you'll walk a short distance to the first tapas bar for a drink and a bite.

Enjoy a drink and a tapa at this second, smaller local bar on Calle Pelayo, a street with several bars, restaurants, and shops. The street is also known for the infamous High Heel Race during Madrid's annual Gay Pride.

Leave the restaurants and bars behind as you enter a neighborhood market for this fourth stop. This is where locals go for everyday groceries as well as gourmet items, or simply to eat and drink at the various food stalls.
