It's located only 180 km to the west of Warsaw and it is easy to get there by car. Journey by car from Warsaw to Kulmhof takes over 2 hours one way. On the spot we usually spend about 3 hours. Kulmhof (Chelmno nad Nerem) is located about 2,5 hours drive from Warsaw. When we get there, first we will pay a visit to the museum. There is brand new exhibition devoted to the history of German death camp in Kulmhof.
We will see a short movie in the Granary, take a look at the remnants of palace (not much left), and also presbytery used by the Sonderkommando as an administration building. Then we will continue to the Rzuchow Forest. This is where gassed people were burned and buried in mass graves. Please keep in mind that the camp was destroyed by Germans in 1945.
