Itinerary
The workshop will start with a short talk about kimono – its history as a symbol of Japanese culture and its detailed creation process. The design of kimono has many meanings, filled with relationships between people, space, nature, and “the invisible” as something tangible.
To share the efficiency of how kimonos are made and what goes into the art of making them, we will create our own kimonos using paper. This is not origami; we will use traditional cutting methods. Through this experience, you will understand not only how efficiently kimonos are made but also what it is like to wear one.
