Built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, this old fort has been renamed to Amer-Rajput Palace and Fort and continues to be a popular attraction. Its stunning architecture made from red sandstone and marble is complemented by the nearby Maotha Lake, creating an enchanting atmosphere that adds to its charm. A must-see spot within the fort complex is Panna Meena ka Kund, a unique square-shaped stepwell with stairs on all four sides and a room on the northern wall. This structure holds religious significance as it was used for ceremonies before weddings or during festivals. Although not Rajasthan's largest stepwell, Panna Meena ka Kund should not be missed due to its historical and cultural value.
