After a scenic drive, we arrive at Fortescue Bay in Tasman National Park, the starting point of your hike. The return walk covers approximately 9.4 km and takes around 4 hours to complete, featuring numerous steps and gently undulating sections—making it a rewarding challenge for active adventurers. The well-maintained trail winds through forest, woodland, and coastal heath, gradually revealing breathtaking cliffside scenery and sweeping views of the ocean. Along the way, we’ll pause for regular rest breaks to appreciate the dramatic landscape and the powerful waves of the Tasman Sea below.
The trail continues to the Cape Hauy lookout, where the iconic sea stacks known as the “Candlestick” and the “Totem Pole” rise dramatically from the ocean, creating a spectacular sight that is especially popular with photographers and rock climbers.
