Mount Sibayak
Mount Sibayak is a stratovolcano located in North Sumatra, Indonesia, near the town of Berastagi and about 50 kilometers from Medan. It is one of the most accessible volcanoes in Sumatra and is popular among hikers and tourists due to its relatively easy climb and dramatic geothermal activity.
The day begins at 4.00am with a hotel pickup by car. The hike is 1.5-2 hours to the top of Mount Sibayak. Enjoy tea/coffee and a light breakfast. Take in views of Mount Sinabung and explore the crater with steaming vents, boiling pools, and sulphur deposits.
