Itinerary
1
Acropolis
One of the world's most famous ancient archaeological sites, the Acropolis was built during the Bronze age, 2200 to 1200 BC, 500 feet above sea level on the Attica Plateau. With breathtaking views, the Acropolis served as a home to kings, a citadel, a mythical home of the gods, and a religious center since dinosaurs roamed the earth. It has withstood epic attacks, immense earthquakes, and more for centuries. A modern marvel, it’s a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the star attraction and the Acropolis centrepiece, the Parthenon. Completed in the 5th century BC, it is regarded as the masterpiece of the Doric order of architecture. Other temples on the Acropolis include Athena and Athena Nike. All reflect the grandeur of ancient Athens.
