Itinerary
1
Ankara Castle
Recognized as the emblem of Ankara, the Citadel commands a commanding view of the city. Built by the Hittites or the Phrygians, it is the oldest area of the city, with residents living mostly unchanged from 600 years ago. The area was inhabited prior to 2000 BC.

2
Anadolu Medeniyetleri Muzesi
This museum's displays, which begin with an intriguing display of artifacts from the Catal Huyuk site—often referred to as the first known human community in the world—place an unusual emphasis on the earlier invaders of Anatolia. Highlights include a series of tablets whose translations serve as a reminder of how little has changed in the world over the ages.
1 hour and 30 minutes
3
Aslanhane Mosque
Dating back to the 13th century, Ahi Şerafettin Mosque is a masterpiece of Seljuk architecture, famous for its intricately carved wooden columns and ceiling. Imagine a wooden structure standing strong for over 700 years — this is one of the rare UNESCO-listed mosques that still preserves its original spirit.

Anitkabir
Ataturk, the creator of the Turkish Republic, a revolutionary, a valiant soldier, a great leader, and a global figure, is eternally resting in this mausoleum. Built in 1953 and completed with a view over Ankara, it was the site of Ataturk's burial in November of that same year. Numerous Turkish artists have contributed statues, reliefs, and other embellishments to the mausoleum.
