Itinerary
Hakata ori is a traditional silk textile that has been produced in Fukuoka for more than seven hundred seventy years. On this tour, guests will have the opportunity to see behind the scenes and witness firsthand how this textile is made.
The production process is explained by the artisan himself, third generation head of Kuroki Orimono. Inside the factory, visitors will be able to view the antique looms, see the artisans working at their craft, and witness the magic of how silk threads are woven into beautiful patterns.
After the factory tour, participants will learn how to tie the ends of a woven piece of Hakata ori to make a finished centerpiece that can be taken home. This is a unique...
