Akrotiri Archaeological Site
Travel back in time and explore the history that has reshaped the island in its current form.
Along with an authorized guide, you will discover all aspects of the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri where an important civilization flourished and was later destroyed by the massive volcanic eruption of 1612 BC.
Walk around the cobbled alleys and high-rise buildings that once housed Aegean Pompeii
The most important findings you will discover on this tour are:
A large building, at least two floors, with fourteen rooms on each floor. Some rooms were connected by many doors and were decorated with beautiful murals.
The West House is a relatively small but well-organized building. On the ground floor there are warehouses, workshops, kitchen and mill installation.
The women's house. The large two-storey building got its name from the mural with the Ladies and the Papyrus, which decorated the interior.
