We will meet at the main entrance of the Museum of Anthropology to begin a guided tour exploring the origins of Mesoamerican cultures. The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City is the most important museum in Latin America, housing the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic art.
Over approximately two and a half hours, we’ll trace 10,000 years of history, exploring everyday objects and ceremonial artifacts from ancient civilizations like the Aztecs, Maya, Zapotecs, Toltecs, and more. Highlights include the iconic Sun Stone (Aztec calendar), as well as reconstructed temples and tombs.
After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore the museum at your own pace.
