Half Dome
Our guide will meet you at the trailhead parking for an orientation to begin your epic Half Dome adventure. From there, we begin by joining the John Muir Trail just past Happy Isles. We move to the Mist Trail for astonishing views of Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall as we climb giant granite steps. We rejoin the JMT above Nevada along the Merced River for a gentle section of sandy trail. From there it's a steady climb up steep trail until we reach Sub Dome. On Sub Dome, you will be challenged with a steep staircase of granite rock followed by steep slabs of granite until we reach the cables. At the cables, our guide will give a safety orientation and describe our techniques for a successful summit. Once we reach the summit of Half Dome, we celebrate with photos and enjoy our lunch from breathtaking locations. We typically spend 45 minutes on the summit then prepare for the long journey back down the same way.
