We will start our trip from Fire watch tower, where you can see beautifull panoramic views of surrounding forests, meadows and highest buildings of Riga. Our journey will take place in an area surrounded by long dune ridges, which are about 10 kilometers long and 0.4 to 1.5 kilometers wide. Local residents call this strip of dunes "Sahara of Riga". The tour will start at Bumbu kalnins(Bomb hill) fire observation tower, which has panoramic platform, which is open for visitors. There is wide panoramic view to Riga and surrounding forests. Bomb hill is the historic place, where was located the command post of the Latgale Division of the Latvian Army. On November 1st, 1919, Colonel Krišjānis Berķis signed the order to start the operation to liberate Pardaugava, then on November 11 Riga was liberated and till 1st of December whole Latvia was liberated from Bermont army. The tour will go through pine tree forest, you will see Bullupe and Lielupe river and one of biggest dunes in Latvija- The White dune, which is 17m high, near the river Lielupe. White Dune is one of the most beautiful Jūrmala’s protected nature objects.
