Day 1: ACCRA | SHAI | AKOSOMBO
Following a sumptuous breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and make our way to Akosombo in the Eastern Region.
Our first stop will be at Shai Hills Forest Reserve, where we’ll explore the ancestral caves of the Krobo people. A walk through the cool, dry evergreen forest offers you the opportunity to see relics from old Shai settlements within the reserve. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including antelopes, bushbucks, baboons, and various bird species.
The ancestral caves hold significant historical importance—they served as fortresses for the Shai King until the late 19th century. The abundance of large stone rocks, tunnel-like openings, and overhangs made them ideal defensive structures during times of war.
Later, we will proceed to Akosombo, arriving early in the evening. You can check in to your hotel and unwind with a relaxing boat ride on Lake Volta

Day 2: AKOSOMBO | TAFI | WLI | AKOSOMBO
After a leisurely breakfast and morning, we will visit Tafi Atome, a sanctuary home to Mona and Patas monkeys. These monkeys thrive in a small forest patch that has survived fire and human disturbance. The villagers consider them sacred and protect them.
Next, we will continue to Wli Waterfalls, Ghana’s largest and highest waterfall. It’s divided into two sections, with ice-cold water flowing from a height of about 80 feet. On the way to the waterfall, you’ll hike through the lush greenery of the Agumatsa Forest Reserve, crossing the same river eleven times before reaching the breathtaking falls.
Afterward, we will head back to our resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
