Biarritz
Biarritz was visited by kings such as Edward VII or Alfonso XIII and continues to be a favourite of many of the aristocracy, known as «the Queen of Resorts and the Resort of Kings».
There is about 40 minutes drive to the stop.
The town is mostly made up of bourgeois houses and mansions. This touch of luxury is perfectly balanced with the more relaxed surf culture, which has a long tradition in Biarritz. This interesting contrast is undoubtedly part of the town’s identity.
We will walk the promenade coast to coast, visiting the lighthouse with gorgeous views, the art deco casino, the amazing market, fishing port, the neogotic Saint Eugenie church and “La rocher de la vierge”. Wonderful!

Saint-Jean-de-Luz
We travel back in time to discover the secrets of this fishing village through the marriage between Louis XIV of France and the Spanish princess Maria Teresa of Austria. We will visit the Saint Jean Baptiste church, the Louis XIV square, the port and the Maison Adam shop with more than 350 years of history.
We can’t skip the market stroll or Gambetta street: The fish corner and local delicacies such as a big variety of cheese, the famous piment d’Espelette, local ham, gateau basque (a famous creamy pie) or Basque style table linen.
Before leaving, we will enjoy a fabulous stroll along the Grand Plage, one of the main attractions of the village. Spectacular!

Plage du Fort de Socoa
In the same bay, on the opposite side of Saint Jean de Luz is the village of Ciboure and its neighbourhood of Socoa, a secret jewel.
It boasts a couple of beautiful sandy beaches, a fishing port and fabulous architecture. At the end of the bay rises the Fort of Socoa, built in the early 17th century to protect the port from Spanish invaders.
This is a perfect spot to enjoy a lunch overlooking the sea. Taste the local food such as mussels, seafood, squid or fish or eat something lighter in any of the restaurants. Delicious!
