The walk from Bariloche to San Martín de los Andes is one of the most important excursions that tourists can perform. San Carlos de Bariloche (commonly called Bariloche) is a city in the Patagonia region of Argentina. It borders Nahuel Huapi, a large glacial lake surrounded by mountains in the Andes. Bariloche is known for its Swiss alpine-style architecture and its chocolate, which is sold in shops on Miter Street, the main avenue. It is also a popular base for hiking and skiing in the nearby mountains, and for exploring the surroundings of the Lake District.

After passing Puerto Manzano, you cross Villa La Angostura, a true mountain village, characterized for its meticulous and clean architecture. Located in the northern sector of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, surrounded by lakes, forests and mountains, it is considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Andean Patagonia, earning itself the nickname of "Garden of Patagonia". A few kilometers away is the border crossing with Chile, Cardenal Samoré, and together with other nearby towns, such as San Carlos de Bariloche and San Martín de los Andes, make up a tourist corridor of great popularity both in the summer and winter seasons.

El Correntoso is a lake located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, in the city of Villa La Angostura, Los Lagos department, in the Neuquén province. It has its entrance through National Route 40 and is surrounded by the Belvedere hill, among others.

Machónico Lake is located a few km from the city of San Martín de los Andes on the route of the Seven Lakes.

San Martín de los Andes is a city in the northwest of Patagonia, Argentina. The city sits on the shores of Lake Lácar, one of the park's many glacial lakes, and has a pier and a sandy beach. The First Settlers Museum displays exhibits of indigenous tribes and European colonizers.
