Kinbu Shrine
We begin our visit to the Shinto Kinpu Sanctuary, at the top of the mountain. This monument is part of the UNESCO World Heritage under the title "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountains". This is an opportunity for us to greet the mountain and its guardian deity, before starting our journey and hike.

Yoshino Mikumari Shrine
This sanctuary, also listed in UNESCO, dates from the 17th century and has remained as it is since that time. We can also see historical artifacts from the Edo period.

Here is the highlight of the show and of the tour! The view below of nature and the old town is magnificent, especially during the cherry blossom season.

Yoshimizu Shrine
The view "A Thousand Trees at Sight" from this shrine is magnificent, especially during the cherry blossom season. It is also a landmark of the Japanese imperial history with the Southern Court of the 14th century.

Nakasenbon, "In the Thousand Trees", is actually a real commercial street in the mountains! It's an opportunity for us to stop by for lunch, window shopping, and why not, make a little extras.

Ascetic Buddhist monks welcome us to this temple where we can still feel the presence of Kukai, Kobo-Daishi, founder of the place in the 9th century.
