Wat Phra That Hariphunchai
Make your first stop at Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, the most revered temple in the province. This Royal Temple, built in 897 by a Lamphun king, is renowned for its magnificent 51-meter golden pagoda, which enshrines an authentic Buddha relic brought from India. Within the same temple grounds, you’ll also find a sacred Buddha footprint, a beautifully crafted teakwood library housing ancient Pali scriptures, an old Lanna-style chedi, and one of the largest call-to-prayer gongs in Thailand.

Wat Chamthewi Temple (Wat Ku Kut)
11:00 AM – Visit Wat Jammathevee, named after Queen Jammathevee, the first ruler of Hariphunchai. Locally known as “Wat Ku Kut,” the temple is famous for its unique chedi, which lost its top after being struck by lightning—giving it the name that means “the chedi without a top.”
