Itinerary

Chonta Mirador de Cóndores
Our journey begins at 8:00 AM in Cusco, heading toward Limatambo. Along the way, we’ll visit two fascinating Inca archaeological sites: Quillarumiyoc and Tarawasi, both believed to have been used as astronomical observatories. After exploring these remarkable sites, we’ll continue to Limatambo for a well-deserved lunch.
The adventure continues with breathtaking views of the Chonta community (3,400 masl / 11,155 ft.) and the surrounding Andean peaks. From here, we embark on a scenic 1.5-hour hike along the edge of the Apurímac Canyon, arriving at the Huaco viewpoint (3,350 masl / 10,990 ft.). This spectacular vantage point offers a prime opportunity to observe the majestic Andean condor, the world’s largest flying bird and a sacred symbol of the Incas. With some luck, we may also spot eagles, hawks, and white-tailed deer.
After soaking in this unforgettable experience, we’ll begin our return to Cusco, arriving between 7:30 and 8:00 PM, depending on the pace of the group.
