In this tour, we'll discover the Holy City of Fátima and the historical towns of Óbidos, Alcobaça and Batalha, home of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites Batalha and Alcobaça Monasteries, and Nazaré.
We'll start with Fátima, and visit the Sanctuary and the Chapel of Apparitions. We will then meet the Batalha Monastery in all of its glory.
After Batalha, we'll go to Alcobaça, and you'll be in awe with the pure beauty of the city centered Monastery, which in itself houses a beautiful royal love story. With a brief visit, you'll leave Alcobaça with a wide smile (even wider if you taste the pastries!).
This tour wouldn't be complete without gazing at the Sea. We'll go to Nazaré, the famous fish...

Itinerary
1
Fatima
The first stop will be Fátima, the world-famous pilgrimage site. Here you will learn all about the appearance of “Our Holy Lady of Fátima”, who appeared to three sheppard children in 1917. It is home of the basilica where all three are buried today.
2 hours
2
Batalha Monastery
Later we move on to Batalha where the famous Batalha Monastery was built in commemoration of the historical battle between Portuguese and Castilan troops in the 14th century. It is one of the most stunning buildings in Gothic architecture and Portuguese history.
50 minutes
3
Monastery of Alcobaca
Our next stop will be Alcobaça, home of yet another UNESCO-listed site, the Alcobaça Monastery. Wrapped around a river, the Alcobaça Monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful sites in Portugal. The monastery is the burial site of Pedro and Inês de Castro. You will hear all about their tragic love story back in the day.
1 hour
4
Nazare
Next to a radiant beach, in a large bay, this fishing town is a popular summer resort that has lost some of its original character, where you can still see fishermen wearing plaid shirts and women in countless layered skirts. Here you have lots of optional choices for lunch: New Port Restaurant is must tasting!
2 hours
5
Obidos Village
This charming hamlet of white houses is enclosed in 14th century walls. When King Dinis married Isabella of Aragon in 1282, Óbidos was one of his wedding gifts.
Enjoy our famous Ginginja de óbidos and feel the air inside the medieval walls!
