About
This is not a bus tour or a quick photo stop. It’s a real hike to Iceland’s most active eruption zone: Fagradalsfjall, where new lava flowed as recently as July 2025.
This experience takes you into one of Iceland’s newest volcanic regions, led by local guides who have followed the eruptions on the Reykjanes Peninsula since the first lava appeared in 2021.
Hike across wide lava fields, observe steaming ground and crater formations, and learn how repeated eruptions have transformed this part of southwest Iceland. The tour also includes visits beyond the volcano itself, giving you a deeper understanding of the area and its recent history.
Along the way, we stop in the evacuated fishing town ...

Fagradalsfjall Volcano
Explore Fagradalsfjall, Iceland’s most active and talked-about volcano, where continuous eruptions from 2021 to 2025 have transformed the landscape into a dramatic display of fresh lava flows, steaming ground, and new craters. This 5-mile (8 km) round-trip hike includes about 984 feet (300 m) of elevation gain and offers a rare chance to walk across terrain formed just days or months ago.
