We start at the taxi stand of Nijo Castle and we walk 5 mins to Shinsenen garden. It is said to be the oldest existing garden in Kyoto. Then we will head to Nijo Jinya house. This special house is still inhabited today and is open to the public with a guide from the family in Japanese. Tour guide will interpret from Japanese to English. Shinsenen is a Buddhist temple located south of Nijō Castle. You will see the beautiful vermillion colored bridge and pond.

Nijo Castle
Next, we will visit Nijo Castle where the residence of Shogun!
This Nijo Castle was build by Ieyasu Tokugawa(One of the Shogun of Japan) in 1603 and he is the model of Lord Yoshii Toranaga on FX drama "Shogun".
This castle is not a Quintessential Japanese castle and more like a place of him.
We enter the Shogun's palace and we will see the Japanese garden. Tour will disband here and you can stay longer if you want after the tour.

Nijo Castle
Our certified guide will be waiting at the Taxi stand of Nijo Castle.
Then we will head to Nijo Jinya on foot. This private house used to did money and rice exchange business.
And later Jinya became Ryokan(Japanese Inn) for feudal lord.
In this private house, we will join the guided tour by owner in Japanese and tour guide will interpret it.
