The Kastel Fortress is the oldest historical monument in Banja Luka, located on the banks of the Vrbas River. Its foundations date back to Roman times, though the current structure was significantly expanded during the Ottoman period. The fortress served as a military stronghold for centuries and includes stone walls, watchtowers, and inner courtyards. Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Banja Luka
ram Hrista Spasitelja (Cathedral of Christ the Saviour) is a monumental Serbian Orthodox cathedral located in the heart of Banja Luka, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Originally constructed between 1925 and 1929 as the Church of the Holy Trinity, it was consecrated on May 18, 1939. Tragically, during World War II, it was destroyed in 1941 by German bombings and subsequent demolition by the occupying Ustaše forces.
