1
Three Kings Monument
This monument features bronze statues of the three founders of Chiang Mai: King Mengrai (the city's founder), King Ramkhamhaeng of Sukhothai, and King Ngam Muang of Phayao. It stands as a proud symbol of Chiang Mai’s history and commemorates the alliance forged by these kings in the development of the city.

2
Wat Phra Singh
One of the most famous temples within the old walled city. Dating back to the 14th century, Wat Phra Singh (Temple of the Lion Buddha) is named after the revered Buddha image housed within. It’s one of the finest examples of classic Lanna temple architecture.
30 minutes
3
Wat Phan Tao
One of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai, originally built in the late 14th century. Wat Phan Tao is known for its stunning Lanna-style viharn (ordination hall), made entirely of teakwood atop a stone base.

4
Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara
A striking temple ruin also known as the “Temple of the Great Stupa.”
Construction lasted from 1391 to 1475, and although partially collapsed by an earthquake in 1545, it remained the tallest structure in Chiang Mai for centuries. Wat Chedi Luang once housed the famous Emerald Buddha, now located in Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.

5
Wat Lok Molee
Situated just outside the old city walls, this is one of Chiang Mai’s older temples. It features one of the largest and most impressive chedis in the city and holds the ashes of several kings from the Mengrai dynasty, rulers of the Lanna Kingdom until the Burmese invasion in 1558.

Chang Phuak Gate Night Market
After the temple visits, we’ll head to Chang Phuak Night Market, where you'll get a real taste of local life. Unlike the more touristy Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, this market is mostly frequented by locals.
Known for its lively atmosphere and countless food stalls, Chang Phuak is the perfect place to experience Northern Thai street food culture at its most authentic. You’ll sample delicious treats like (if available) Khao Soi, Thai-style grilled satay, Sai Oua sausage, and of course, mango sticky rice.
