The gin-kō (haiku walk) at the Shiki Memorial Museum is led by a local English haiku instructor with deep knowledge of Masaoka Shiki and his legacy. Participants also take part in a haiku walk through the garden of Funaya Ryokan, a distinguished historic inn founded in 1627 and beloved by many cultural figures, including Masaoka Shiki, Kyoshi Takahama, and Santōka Taneda.
