Culross is a beautifully preserved 17th-century village on the Firth of Forth, known for its cobbled streets, white-harled houses, and the striking ochre Culross Palace. Celebrated as one of the most iconic Outlander filming locations, it stood in for the town of Cranesmuir and several key scenes throughout the series. It’s an ideal stop for fans to walk in Claire and Geillis’s footsteps while enjoying historic lanes, coastal views, and charming gardens.

Doune Castle, known to Outlander fans as Castle Loech, the residence of Clan MacKenzie, is a remarkable example of 14th-century Scottish architecture, offering a glimpse into Scotland’s rich history. In the series, it stands in as the Duke of Sandringham’s lavish residence, with its grand interiors offering a glimpse into 17th-century aristocratic life. The estate’s expansive grounds are featured in several scenes, including the iconic courtyard where Jamie’s ambush on Sandringham takes place. With sweeping views of the River Forth and beautifully maintained gardens, Hopetoun House is a captivating fusion of history and cinematic allure. The tour includes the entrance fee to the grounds, you can choose to upgrade this to tour the house.
