Hakodate
Hakodate is one of the major cities of Hokkaido, located in the far noth of Japan. Here is a luxury rickshaw tour around the bay area of Hakodate, a charming city where cultural heritage meets modern vibrancy.
Rickshaw is a two-wheeled vehicle designed to be pulled by driver called Shafu which has been used since the late 19th century.
The Shafu will guide you through the cityscapes of a blend of Western and Japanese styles along the bay area, including the Mori Red Brick Warehouse, the retro ex-post office building, and the oldest telegraph pole in Japan.
You will be wearing hakama, the fashion influenced by the Western culture, during the tour. In the 19th century in Japan, the government actively adopted Western culture, and a fashion called “Haikara-san” originating from the "high collar" became a state-of-the-art symbol.
