Zwinger is a fancy palace in Dresden, built by a king named Augustus the Strong to show off his wealth and host extravagant parties in the early 18th century. You will see the stunning baroque architecture and ornate exterior of Zwinger Palace, including the grand entrance gate and beautiful fountains (in 2025 is the courtyard still under reconstruction). Expect 10 minutes walk from the car park.

The Semper Opera House, a renowned structure in Dresden, was built in the early 19th century. You'll have the chance to capture photos of its stunning neo-renaissance facade and intricate architectural features.

The Cathedrale Sanctissimae Trinitatis (Katholische Hofkirche), often referred to as the Holy Trinity Cathedral, is a magnificent example of Gothic Revival architecture and a significant religious landmark in Dresden.

Augustus Bridge, a notable structure in Dresden, dates back to the 18th century. As you explore the city, you'll have the chance to capture photos of this historic bridge that spans the Elbe River, as well as the picturesque Elbe River promenade known as Brühl's Terrace, often referred to as the "Balcony of Europe." Here, you can take in breathtaking views of the river, the charming architecture of Dresden, and the lively atmosphere of the city's riverfront.

You will pass by the Albertinum, a notable museum in Dresden known for its impressive art collection, as part of your tour.

Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), a magnificent baroque church in Dresden, is renowned for its stunning architecture and historical significance. Rebuilt after total destruction during the war, it symbolizes resilience and rebirth, rising like a phoenix from the ashes. Optionally, you can visit the Dome's viewing platform, accessible via 174 steps (no elevator). Entry fee to the observation platform is not included (10 EUR/person). From there, you'll enjoy a unique view of Dresden, first glimpsing the church interior and then the cityscape. Those who don't go to the viewpoint can spend time on Neumarkt Square right in front of the church at the Neumarkt Christmas Market.

The Procession of Princes (Fürstenzug) is a famous Dresden mural mosaic, composed of thousands of porcelain tiles, depicting a grand procession of Saxon rulers across the centuries. This impressive mural is not only the largest porcelain artwork in the world but also a vivid testament to the region's rich historical heritage.

The Royal Palace, a historic and grand structure, holds significant cultural importance and stands as a symbol of the city's rich heritage. It offers a striking architectural presence and an opportunity to appreciate its historical significance from its exterior.

The Stallhof courtyard hosts a medieval Christmas Market, which will transport you back in time with its costumed characters, traditional crafts, and medieval settings. You can also enjoy live medieval performances, making it a delightful escape from the modern world. Stallhof was originally a tournament court for knight games. We will spend aprox 45 minutes at this Christmas Market.

Christmas market

The Dresdner Christmas Market at Altmarkt is a traditional seasonal attraction, well-known as one of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in Germany, with origins dating back to 1434. Nestled in the heart of Dresden's Old Town, this market is celebrated for its historic significance and iconic attractions, including the giant Christmas Pyramid and enormous Christmas Stollen, making it a must-visit during the festive season. / Expect 10 minutes walk to the car park - probably parking at Centrum Galerie Dresden.

Add to your order: If you want to add some more hiking, I recommend visiting Tisa Rocks, part of Bohemian Switzerland. It is a labyrinth made of sandstone. You walk through narrow mysterious passages and also climb to the tops of the rock towers for a view. Entrance fee 30 CZK/person. If you book it, it will be included on the way to Dresden, we will spend about 1hr walking (difficult terrain). If booked it will make the tour longer! (approx 9-10 hrs)
