Originally from Australia, mimosa was introduced to Europe in the 19th century by English winterers. During their travels, botanists and scientists brought back various species of trees and flowers from this unexplored land, including the famous mimosa. This first stage in the Maritime Alps is the cradle of mimosa cultivation. It is located at the foot of the Tanneron Massif, home to the largest mimosa forest in Europe on the Estérel massif.
