Sedir Island
Cleopatra Beach is under government protection and visitors are not allowed to take sand with them. It is even forbidden to spread your towels out on the beach as the sand will stick to them.
Legend has it that the pale pink sand on this beach was brought by ships from North Africa to please Cleopatra. Apparently this type of sand only exists in Egypt and Mark Anthony sent it here because Cleopatra was nostalgic and homesick. In the eastern part of this magnificent island there is an agora where, according to inscriptions, sporting festivals were organized.
