Your journey begins with a pickup and drive to km 82 (Piskacucho), where the trekking team greets you with a hearty breakfast. After gearing up and applying sunblock, you’ll check in at the first official Inca Trail control, entering the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. The first section is a scenic 4-hour hike past rivers, villages, ancient sites, and breathtaking Andean views, leading to Tarayoc for a buffet lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients. In the afternoon, a 2-hour uphill trek takes you to Wayllabamba, the first campsite, where tents, hot showers, and a jacuzzi await for relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a cooking class led by the trekking chef to learn traditional Peruvian dishes and cocktails.
